Paris Day 1

Yesterday afternoon at 5PM I arrived at the hotel. The flight and traveling by train from the airport to our hotel went better than personally expected eventhough the train had some delayment.
The hotel so far is in a good location (Google Maps link) and I have internet Access here. To be honest the inet connection was even in China better but most important is I can stay in contact with others so I won't complaint anylonger.
After unpacking I took a little walk at the evening to check out the surrounding area. Right after the start I got lost in the area where Hospital Saint-Louis is located but fortunately some very friendly guys helped us to get back on the right way. I have to admit here that I didn't expect this kind of nice behaviour by the French but I am more than impressed afterwards. After passing Republique and I was heading to the Notre Dame finally. Of course I took some first testing pictures and after my ass was almost frozen I went back cause it got already 23:20h.
Oh yeah and then Kristin and I had the best Crepe in the world. Really delicious and more than just recommendable. Yeah, after that there was some grocery shopping for New Year's Eve and now I think it is time to sleep. Au revoir.

First 100 days at the university are over

Well, how have these first 100 days been?
Simply amazing. Right now I think going to university was one of the, if not THE best decision I have done in my life so far. I have met people from other countries and different cultural background. I learnt new things and on the bad side I started smoking again... :-(
I had to break up the Chinese lessons cause they collided with some other important subjects and I started learning Dutch.
But to make one thing clear I love this new life. Eventhough some things really came to short in the past months. For instance the photo shootings with Patti... Anyway next year things should come straight again with less parties/cigarettes/beers/sleepless nights and more studying (yeah, right...) plus passing all the exams hopefully.
Wish me luck ^^

Guitar Hero ad spoofs Risky Business

It is one more spoof of Tom Cruise's infamous air guitar performance in the movie "Risky Business". There have been many spoofs but I have to admit Heidi Klum performs the best so far.

THE ORIGINAL:

PS: Here's another spoof by the Scrubs staff:

Christmas Present: Sega Katana Bios Files

In the net I've found the ripped Bios files of the Sega Dreamcast dev kit HKT0120 alias Sega Katana. You can load them with a Dreamcast Emulator so you see how horrible the old intro was...
However, get them here and enjoy.

PS: Don't wonder about the download size of 10 MB. I included to the dc_bios.bin and dc_flash.bin files 2 videos that show the start up with a red and a blue swirl.

How to take a screenshot with your iPhone

Ever thought about how nice it would be to take screenshots of your iPhone?
Well there is a not very good documented way to do it.
Simply hold the home button (the button with the square printed on it) for a second and then the sleep/wake button (the button on the top). You will hear cam activation and et voila the screenshot is stored in your photo folder.

Hardreset your iPhone

Incase your iPhone's Mac OS should ever crash there is an easy way to hard reset it. Simply hold the home button (the button with the square printed on it) and the sleep/wake button (the button on the top) for about 5 seconds. After that you see the Apple screen appearing and your cellphone will reboot.

Caps Lock on your iPhone

In case you didn't know before, I will explain you how to find the Caps Lock option on your beloved iPhone.
Yeah maybe you are one of the guys who shout a lot in emails or simply prefer to write everything in capitalized letters. If so simply follow these coming steps.

First of all you should know that by default, the caps lock feature on your keyboard is deactivated.
To enable it, tap the Settings icon on the home screen, then tap the General button on the next screen. Here you tap now on the Keyboard button.
In the keyboard settings screen, you find the option Enable Caps Lock which has to be activated.

OK, we now enabled Caps Lock, but how do we use it?

Well if you start writing a shortmessage or an email you simply have to make a quick double tap on the shift button. If it turns blue, you made it and can shout now as much you want. If not, you have to try to double tap again.

That's all folks.

Marriott Hotels Ad

Every time I wait for my train at the Bochum main station I see this commercial for Marriot Hotels on a giant flat screen. It's a nice combination of traditional dances and stunning effects. So you can enjoy it now as well.

Play an Ocarina on your iPhone

Smule released a nifty little piece of software to the Apple Appstore called "Ocarina". As the name suggests it is emulating an entire ocarina flute on your cell and works way better than expected.
But enough said: Take a look by yourself.

I <3 my new cellphone

These days I bought my new cellphone. It is an Apple iPhone 3G and I have to admit I simply love it. Never had a intuitive device like that and I am used to tech devices like the Nokia Communicator 9500 and the HTC S730.
Nonetheless there is another advantage for me: Instead forgetting either my cell or my iPod now I can forget both things at the same time ;-)
